RIM's past when it is full touch screen based devices is a
bit fragile at best. The Storm and Storm II has never won public acceptance of
mass and much hated screen click bizarre.
Until the review is yet another attempt by RIM in full
screen touch-based devices. The device is the BlackBerry Torch 9850, but in a
highly competitive environment, it can hold its own BlackBerry?
In your hand, the camera is solid and there are unfortunately
without bumps, it seems that the quality of the construction of a high-end
device. The back of the device has a unique material, which we love. It feels a
bit like suede, but not scratches easily and is easy to grasp.
The hardware buttons at the bottom are a good alternative to
the usual touch keys, which we on many other devices. Distance is sufficiently
pressing and it has a solid click iness. The middle button, which is also a
traditional BlackBerry trackpad, is a bit difficult to use if you have anything
other than small hands.
There are also two buttons on a rocker as installed on the
side and lower third. The keys are shark fin, and perhaps the worst buttons
that we have ever seen on a cell phone. Not only are they difficult to use,
they feel like you push a penny divided (not a good feeling, actually) in the
mashed potatoes and offer little security when Press to adjust the volume up or
down.
Screen:
The screen is not a not a bad implementation of RIM. See the
angels are acceptable and the colors are a little hot, but no obstruction. The
3.7in screen is a reasonable size, but the bezel is a little bigger than what
we would see in a device class that will be.
Battery:
In moderate use, we were more than a full day of use of the
device. We did not book unit with heavy downloads as we were on some other unit
tests (more about this below), but suffice it to say that the e-mails, web
browsing and a few phone calls will let you go with enough battery in the city
in the evening. However, how can we say with any smartphone out there in that’s
probably the best night since you do not get two full days of use of the
device.
OS:
Here, the problem is with the phone and it, not the it's
battery life poor, poor quality or screen calls, it's BBOS only bad experience
touch it's hard to this device is recommended. Button touchpad / media is
constantly rubbing when your finger along the bottom to one of the buttons to
send a (really?) The screen cursor Traf God knows where when you surf the Web.
In fact, the touch pad is a bit pointless based on a full touchscreen device.
Arriving on the touchpad sorry, you end up with a
touchscreen attractive on an operating system still does not feel built for
touch. Unfortunately, a touch screen placed above the OS does not touch
friendly.
There are problems with the rear wheel speed in constant
rotation on its ugly head frequent occasions. The only consistent experience
opens the scope, which is lamentable that the amount of poorly designed
third-party applications that do not look back as they were designed for touch.
it's was because of the horrible touch experience, you can
see why the touchpad to start this device, RIM think you should often use the
touchpad on a touchscreen device based? It seems so, because in some places it
does with some applications of large fingers to navigate the difficult
navigation.
You could actually go over how terrible the experience is a
stark contrast to the BB 9930, we reviewed not so long.
Camera:
On the road, the 5 MP camera and to all a good
implementation, but unfortunately you have terrible sharks buttons on the side
that it is difficult to determine whether you have a shot to use, try to focus
or if the number of Damn Thing to ten before he lets you know what happens. You
can also use the touchpad, but if you accidentally move, the thumb to enlarge
or you can actually touch the screen to display an image that is the best
option, but to take the most unpleasant.
If you get an image, it, it's is a worthy representation of
a cell phone camera, but the flash is almost all the time, and tended to wash
paintings.
Video capture, although 720p recruits was grainy and many
Android-based devices we have tested to beat this unit on a given day.
Conclusion:
Really, the problem here is not the hardware, network
reception or something else that horrible operating system. He, it's is a rare
opportunity for us to say, avoid the product, but here you have it. A phone
that was well built from a sandbag OS clearly not made for touch.
